If you are trying to stop smoking, or are tired of bad breath and other problems associated with smoking conventional tobacco products, then electronic cigars may be of some use to you. Typically, these devices will deliver the same amount of nicotine and flavoring associated with conventional cigars without the smoke and cancer causing agents. Even though there is still a good bit of controversy about the long term usefulness of electronic cigars, they are very popular in many countries.

Types of Electronic Cigars

At the current time, there are at least 17 different manufacturers of electronic cigars. Regardless of the company, each cigar has the same basic features. While some companies create electronic cigars that look just like a real one, others design them to look more like a ball point pen or magic marker. Some of the main elements include:

Mouthpiece that is used for inhaling vaporized liquid

A chamber that holds liquid propylene glycol and nicotine

A heating plate that vaporizes the liquid

A battery that serves as power source for the heating element or atomizer

Even though electric cigars must have all these components, they differ in terms of length of use. For example, you can purchase electronic cigars that can only be used for a certain number of times before disposing of them. You can also purchase electronic cigars that will allow you to replace the battery and refill the liquid. During the process of deciding which type you want, it will be best to consider how many cigars you normally smoke each day, and then determine which unit will be best for your needs.

Advantage of Using Electronic Cigars

Many people switch to electronic cigars because they can obtain their nicotine fix without inhaling carcinogenic substances at the same time. Others that need to smoke during the day in places where it is not allowed also find that electronic cigars enable them to achieve their goal. Depending on the amount of nicotine amounts that you choose, this device can also help you avoid your addiction to this substance.

Disadvantages of Using Electronic Cigars

For the most part, the research on electronic cigars is not consistent. Some studies indicate that they are useful for smoking cessation, while others find that the amount of nicotine delivered is too varied to make these devices useful. Unfortunately, some tests have also indicated that some fluids used in electronic cigars contain carcinogenic compounds. Perhaps it can be best said that you will be well served by researching each brand carefully before making a purchasing decision.

Veppo Electronic Cigar Pack

The Best Electronic Cigars

Overall, most consumers seem to prefer the Veppo e-Cigar. These units tend to look the most like real cigars, as well as produce the closest flavor. At the same time, Veppo units are also known for being much cheaper than real cigars. For example, a single unit costs about $30.00 and takes the place of approximately 20 regular cigars. As an added bonus, you can purchase Veppo e-Cigars that mimic a wide range of cigar flavors including menthol.

When you need to stop smoking, there is nothing worse than not having something to reach for to satisfy your craving for nicotine. Electric cigars will provide you with nicotine as well as a smoke-free environment while you are using them. As may be expected, if you want to save money on cigars, purchasing one single electronic cigar tends to be much cheaper. At the same time, you can always look forward to cleaner teeth and fewer hygiene problems when you use electronic cigars instead of conventional tobacco products.

What Cigar Gifts To Give To Those Cigar Aficionados?

If you have that close friend, or even relative, maybe even your father or brother, who is considered to be a cigar aficionado and you would like to give them a precious gift then there are actually a lot of ideas that you can use.

This can definitely fit any type of occasion and of course with the cigar gift ideas, you can definitely put a smile on your recipient’s face. Of course, the 10 cigar gift ideas will definitely involve cigars and all of the accessories that can be related to them.

Cigar Gifts From High End Cigars To Durable Lighters!

Cigars: The best pack of branded cigars is considered to be one of the best cigar gift ideas for those cigar aficionados on your gift list. A pack of their favorite cigars is more than just enough to give them that simple delight.

Also, you can try searching for those expensive and branded cigars so that you could give your family and friends a taste of luxury, but only if you have the funds because high end luxury cigars are quite expensive.

Cigar lighter: You can choose from those handy ones with a simple style to that of the elegant ones made of 100% stainless steel metal. There are many luxury lighters to choose from, including table top cigar lighters.

The one I like the best and has the best reviews is the EX Windproof Flame Lighter made with Gunmetal:

In addition you can also customize the lighters and make it more personalized with engraved or printed names.

Cigar Gifts Include These Cigar Assortments To Attractive Cigar Cases!

Cigar assortments: An assortment of cigars can include a pack of different cigars with a certain item like a lighter or a cutter together with the package. This can be recommendable if you want to somehow save more for the price of many accessories.

You can go with a low cost but good quality cigar assortment like this one from Famous Smoke Shop:

Cigar cases: These can either be made of metal or even leather. Just like cell phone cases or wallets, these cigar cases can serve to protect their cigars. The designs of these cases can even make it look as if they are not really carrying cigars because they can be very stylish.

This low cost gift is an excellent choice for the cigar gifter on a budget, the Perfecto 3-cigar Case:

Here is a list of the top cigar travel cases which make great cigar gifts.

Cigar Cutters, Lighters, and Ashtrays!

Cigar cutter: You can’t go wrong with a cigar cutter, and the Cuban Crafters Stainless Steel Perfecto Cigar Cutter is ideal because it’s a quality piece, and it’s not very expensive.

Cuban Cigar Cutter

A pair of scissors just for cutting your cigar is a good alternative as well.

Cigar cutter and lighter combination: This is perhaps the best accessory for a cigar lover who is on the go. A combination cigar cutter and lighter all in one saves time, and if you get a good one like the Colibri Radius Chrome Satin Gunmetal Punch & Cutter Cigar Lighter it will last a long time.

Cigar Cutter Lighter

Unfinished Cigar Box: The cigar box, otherwise known as a cigar humidor, can be a very thoughtful gift for the cigar smoker that likes to work with wood and build their own things. An unfinished cigar box is a gift that can make a lasting impression. Plus you can always bug them and ask if the, ‘Finished the cigar box you got them.”

Unfinished Wood Cigar Box

Ash tray: The ash tray is definitely a must have for cigar aficionados together with the humidors which can be truly helpful for them. One of my favorites in terms of quality, price, and an extra cutter is the Folding Wood Cigar Ashtray with Cutter. It folds to hide the ashes from your wife or girlfriend, and it looks nice.

Folding Wood Cigar Ashtray

But the luxury cigar ashtray make ideal cigar gifts. The El Casco is high on this list:

Luxury Cigar Ashtray

Humidors: Cigar humidors are a must have for every cigar lover. There are all shapes and sizes. There are walk in humidors, luxury humidors etc. But the most common is a desktop humidor. Here is a list of the best cheap humidors. Here is a list of the best luxury humidors.

Cigar Punch: A cigar punch punches a hole in a cigar so that you can start your cigar. It’s an alternative to a cigar cutter. So ask your cigar lover which he or she prefers. A cutter or a punch? Here are some of the better punches on the market.

Are you familiar of the ways on how to categorize cigars? For sure, you would simply categorize cigars through their brands or names or the flavors that usually come with them.

But are you aware of the fact that identifying a particular category of a cigar is dome through its size and shape?

This must be something new to you and for others out there who smoke a lot but don’t know how their cigars are categorized.

Like what has been mentioned earlier, identifying the size and shape of cigars is one common procedure in which a person can categorize cigars. This might seem to be simple but it can also seem complicated if you are not yet familiar with it.

For a number of years now, terms like Panatela and Corona have been popular in the cigarette industry and these usually corresponds to the width and length of the cigarette and not to the brand or name of the manufacturer.

The truth is that many manufacturers have used common size names in order to identify and modify their cigarettes; however, specific cigarette’s actual size may vary from one to another particularly to the manufacturers.

Furthermore, you can now have different sizes of cigars to day like the old fellows had before. Manufacturers have already created names for their own cigarettes that usually come in certain sizes. In fact, it isn’t very common to find two cigars of similar size that come from two different cigar companies and with two distinct names to define the cigar’s size.

So it will not be confusing for you to identify the name of a specific cigar, it will be a better suggestion to make use of the length or size in telling the respective name. The length and width for instance should go along together to help you identify the name of a specific cigar having that particular length and width.

However, it is said that it is more interesting to mention the specific names of the cigars than telling their sizes or lengths. With these things in mind, you will be much delighted to think that these are all parts of a cigar’s mystique. And if you are a cigar-lover, you would certainly agree with this.

You may not have the option to use the names of cigars because of their shapes but because of their sizes. For you to have a better understanding about the cigar sizes and the names given to each size category, you may refer to the presentation below and familiarize the different sizes of cigars with their corresponding names:

Churchill
Length: 6.5 to 7
Ring Gauge: 46 to 48

Corona
Length: 5.5 to 6
Ring Gauge: 42 to 45

Lonsdale
Length: 6 to 6.5
Ring Gauge: 42 to 44

Panatela
Length: 5.5 to 6.5
Ring Gauge: 34 to 38

Presidente
Length: 7 to 8.5
Ring Gauge: 52 to 60

Robusto
Length: 4.5 to 5
Ring Gauge: 48 to 50

Toro
Length: 6 to 6.5
Ring Gauge: 48 to 50

Torpedo
Length:5.5 to 6.5
Ring Gauge: 46 to 52

There are not many people who are able to put the words “top quality cigars” and “American made cigars” in the same sentence, after all, who could compete with Cuban made cigars?

While it’s true that the best cigars come from Cuba (and close runners up come from places like Nicaragua, Honduras or the Dominican Republic), settling for an American crafted cigar does not mean that you are limited in taste and texture to something that you will find in the checkout line of a convenience store or in packs of five behind the tobacco counter at Wal-Mart.

In fact, there are actually some very well made cigars that could easily compete with their Cuban or Central American made brothers, if only you know what it is that you are looking for. You may have to take a little extra time to track these particular brands down – in fact, you may need to check out an actual tobacco or cigar shop or possibly even order in order to find these particular beauties, but in the end, you will be very glad that you did.

Top Three American Made Cigars

Sabor Cubano. A Sabor Cubano cigar is something that any true cigar connoisseur will enjoy. Made by Luis Sanchez, Sabor Cubanos are rolled by professional tobacco rollers (or “Tabaqueros” as they are known in Cuba) who worked in Cuba itself before coming to the United States. The head of the Sabor Cubano team is an experienced gentleman by the name of Leo Peraza who has 46 years experience rolling cigars in his native Cuba.

A Sabor Cubano’s construction is nearly flawless; perfectly formed and with a dark, oily wrapper that is completely natural and will not leave black marks on your lips or teeth. The Sabor Cubanos have binders from Ecuador and are filled with a mix of tobacco from Nicaragua and the Dominican republic that combine to give a rich, full, well-rounded flavor; definitely a smoke you are going to want to try.

Tatuaje Cabinet Tainos. Tatuaje Cabinet Tainos Cigars are the brain child of Pete Johnson who relied heavily on Jose Garcia, a Cuban expatriate who has his own cigar factory in Miami. El Rey de los Habanos employs a dozen master rollers of Cuban decent. So well crafted are these cigars that to look at them you could swear that they came from Havana itself. The tobacco for the Tainos comes from Nicaragua, and the flavor is so impressive; nuttiness tempered with vanilla; that the Tatuaje Cabinet Tainos cigars rated #4 out of 25 in the Top 24 Cigars list of 2005 put out by Cigar Aficionado, an amazing achievement for an American made cigar.

Tres Hermanos. The Tres Hermanos cigar is made at The Cigar Factory New Orleans. While relatively new as cigar factories go (it opened its doors in 1998), the quality is not to be denied. One of three different cigar lines that The Cigar Factory New Orleans produces, Tres Hermanos has a spicy aroma whose flavor oscillates between cedar and cinnamon/nutmeg and is packed into a Mexican maduro wrapper.

All of the cigars made at The Cigar Factory New Orleans are freshly wrapped, which means they will smoke even better if you let them age in your humidor for at least a few weeks if not a few months before you smoke them.

What are the best cheap cigars available? Well, that depends on a number of things; primarily on your definition of the word “cheap.” While there are some who would not blink at spending $10.00 or more per cigar (and consider it a bargain), there are plenty who cannot justify more than a few dollars per cigar given their current budget, but who are just as anxious for a good, satisfying smoke as those with money to (pardon the expression) burn.

Finding the Best Cheap Cigars:

Finding the best to rated cigars that don’t cost a heap of money does not necessarily mean that you have to give up quality of flavor, and while every true guitar aficionado knows just how expensive the best Cuban cigars can be, there are a number of alternatives that can be had for less than $4.00 each; a price that won’t break the bank, but for which you can still acquire a smooth and tasteful smoke.

The cigars listed below may not be available at every grocery checkout, but by doing a little research you should be able to find these in a Tobacco or Cigar shop. If not, check the brands out online and see if you can find a good quality supplier who does not charge a great deal for shipping and handling.

Drew Estate Java Maduro Wafe

At $3.80, the Drew Estate Java Maduro Wafe is actually not a bad cigar. It’s rich, smooth taste has an undertone of chocolate and cocoa and finishes up tasting like espresso – it even smells good!

Drew Estate Java Maduro Wafe

Finick’s Rum & Honey Slims

At just $1.00 apiece you may be skeptical of the Rum & Honey Slims, but they are really excellent quality smokes! With a hint of honey, these mild, rum flavored cigars have an easy draw and will have you hooked in no time.

Finick’s Rum & Honey Slims

Another very inexpensive cigar, Finck’s Cheroots Toro is only $1.65, but tastes like it should cost much more. It’s light pepper and cedar flavor is decidedly smooth and never goes bland.

Finck’s Cheroots Toro

Helix Remix Amaretto Petite Corona

At $2.65, the Helix Remix Amaretto Petite Corona has a very flavorful wrapper that smells good even before you light it up. The underlying almond and amaretto flavor will have your taste buds popping.

Helix Remix Amaretto Petite Corona

La Gloria Cubana Wavell

At $4.00 even, the La Gloria is the most expensive cigar on this “cheap” cigars list. Its cedar undertone and peppery ending makes it a very satisfactory smoke.

La Gloria Cubana

Rum Runner Buccaneer

The Rum Runner Buccaneer is, at $2.20, a very good deal when it comes to flavor and fullness. Its light rum flavor is incredibly rich and it even comes with a good tasting wrapper.

Rum Runner Buccaneer Cigars

Drew Estate Java Maduro

At $380, the Drew Estate Java Maduro is rather bigger than the Wafe, and while not quite as satisfactory, it is a good deal for the price and size, and its smooth cocoa flavor will make you a fan.

It doesn’t matter what your budget happens to be; storing cigars is actually very inexpensive. If you’re new to smoking cigars, and need some advice on how to store those new cigars, keep reading.

One of the biggest myths of the cigar smoking world is that cigars need to be stored in a humidor. Cigars should never be stored in direct UV light. Lining an icebox (similar to the ones you bring to the beach full of soda) with some cedar makes a perfect humidor-replacement. Others store their cigars in the refrigerator or freezer, however, this isn’t as great an option. As long as cigars are kept at a low temperature, away from light and too much humidity, you should be alright.

Temperature is one of the most important factors to keep in mind when storing tobacco products. Avoid storing them above 75 degrees Farenheit, and keep the humidity between 75% and 65% relative humidity levels. When storing your cigars, it’s also crucial to avoid too much friction. Don’t store them too tightly; a loose cigar is prone to tearing. Once a cigar tears, it’s extremely difficult to salvage it. Cigar aficionados who are knowledgeable about cigar storage tend to follow the 70/70 rule. This means that cigars are stored best when they are left at 70 degrees Farenheit, and at a 70% relative humidity level.

Of course, buying a humidor is a must when you are a cigar collector. Humidors are specially-designed storage cases (or in some cases, areas) which are made to store a cigar effortlessly. They can store, preserve, and age cigars to their optimum levels. Humidors are generally boxes that are lined with cedar (or a similar wood), and have a special humidification system installed inside. Most high-quality humidors also have a hygrometer, which measures the humidity level of the humidor. Choosing the right humidor is a good way to ensure that your cigars will still be amazing in 10, 15, or 20 years.

It is very possible to find an inexpensive humidor which won’t cost too much money. On online auction sites, secondhand humidors are often on sale for highly discounted prices. Two cigar caddies (mini humidors) can be as low as $10 to $20, while large humidors can cost approximately $200. Browsing different sites will help you get the humidor you need, at a price you can afford.

No one is a stranger to cigar smoke and the dangers of breathing in second hand smoke. Many often wonder if inhaling cigar smoke is just as risky or more son. The truth is, being exposed to any type of secondhand smoke regardless of it’s from a cigar or cigarette is dangerous.

Any secondhand smoke that comes from a tobacco product can be classified as environmentally dangerous tobacco smoke. Environmental tobacco smoke includes all secondhand smoke coming from lit tobacco products including cigars and cigarettes. Smoke emitted from either cigars or cigarettes contains a lot of the same harmful irritants. Smoke from both cigars and cigarettes are full of nicotine, carbon monoxide, hydrogen cyanide, and ammonia. Environmental tobacco smoke also contains carcinogens like vinyl chlorine, benzene, arsenic, hydrocarbons, and nitrosamines. Since cigars are larger than most cigarettes, they tend to produce and release more environmental tobacco smoke into the air. That being said, hanging around cigar smoke can be more of a risk to one’s health than breathing in cigarette’s secondhand smoke.

Cigar Smoke

Although cigars and cigarettes emit the same environmental tobacco smoke, there are some differences between the two that are worth noting. The differences have much to do with the different ways the two products are manufactured. Cigars go through a long fermentation and aging process during their production. It is during this long process the huge levels of carcinogens are produced. After the completed fermentation and aging stage, the cigar is wrapped tightly in a nonporous wrapper keeping the cigar from burning too fast. It is the fermentation process and the nonporous wrappers which are the largest contributing factors in the high concentration of carcinogens released in the smoke. It is not until the cigar is lit that those carcinogens are released into the air. The nonporous wrapper is a large factor in the unclean burn of the cigar.

Cigars also produce large amounts of carcinogens because of their size. Cigars are larger than cigarettes in girth. Cigar size gives them the ability to release a lot more smoke, toxins, and irritants. Cigars are made for relaxing and taking the time to enjoy the cigar, rather than cigarettes which are often sucked down in a matter of minutes. The longer smoke time needed for cigars leads to larger quantities of smoke. Non-smokers should avoid the places where cigars are smoked. If you choose to smoke cigars, always make sure you are in a well-ventilated or windowed area.
