One of the decisions you will have to make when moving to Ireland is finding an overseas moving company. A company that focuses primarily on overseas relocations will do an expert job at knowing exactly what regulations are involved with moving overseas. Visas, customs, and currency are all things that your overseas moving company should know about, besides how to properly ship your valuables to a very distant location without any damage or loss. It’s always best to get referrals from past clients and read reviews from others who honestly tell about the services of the overseas moving company you are considering.

Smoking cigars may be agreat source of pleasure in your life, but the polite smoker knows that not everybody enjoys the smell of a good cigar. With the fervor of anti-smoking campaigns still in full swing, the significance of enjoying a good stogie while not offending others cannot be emphasized enough. Simply keep in mind that while smoke a cigar, it can be tough to gauge the smell that others are experiencing. And never forget that cigar smoke can leave a mighty robust residue on clothing, furniture, and even the walls! To enjoy your stogie without a regret, try to become a considerate and polite cigar smoker.

If you must smoke a cigar outside your house, remember the polite and deferential smoker will only light up where it is legally permitted. Whether you smoke Ramrod Cigars or any other kind of cigars, don’t light up in a bar, hotel, or restaurant where smoking is clearly prohibited. Apolite cigar smoker will also attempt to smoke in the presence of other cigar afficianados. If you’re with people that do not smoke, ask their authorization. If they accept, be considerate about it. Ensure the smoke isn’t traveling in their direction. Sit near an open window or space. Ensure the air conditioner or current is moving the smoke in their direction! Also, ensure no one around you is eating, because secondhand smoke from cigars are a sure way to destroy a meal.

If you live with non-smokers, try to find a well-ventilated area of your residence where you can smoke easily. Though it could be enticing to lock yourself away in an office or bedroom, it’s probably not a smart idea to smoke in an enclosed area unless it has a window. Make sure you have quick access to the window. Never smoke in a closed area! You are much more likely to inhale the toxic air from your own cigar. If at all possible, go outside to smoke. Pull up a lawn chair; relax on the porch, or any other open area where you can smoke nicely. Get as far away as possible from non-smokers, particularly kids and senior citizens. Remember that cigar smoke can contain some cancer inducing agents that can be simply inhaled by non-smokers.

A courteous cigar smoker will also be conscious of their ashes. If you must smoke outside your home, make sure to get rid of your ashes in a safe and acceptable container. Don’t forget that ashes can simply blow away, particularly in lower quality cigars. Don’t litter with ashes, and watch out they do not blow near anybody near you.

Having your Silver Dollars appraised works much like having your jewelry appraised. Without the appraisal, you will have a hard time getting accurate quotes for insurance on the gold coins collection. Carrying insurance on such a collection make absolute sense because the coins are irreplaceable in many instances and, therefore, some monetary compensation is the only comfort should anything happen. Knowing exactly what they are worth will give the adjuster a better idea of where to begin with your insurance quote in terms of value.

Putting together such a collection is also one way that many collectors of Silver Dollars assure that they have a family heirloom to pass on to their children and grandchildren. Not everyone has a long history of heirlooms in their family, especially if the family was not always financially secure or if things were lost in the past in some sort of disaster. However, starting a collection of gold coins can offer something to the future generations that they can inherit and hold dear as items once owned by ancestors.

Collecting Silver Dollars is definitely a tedious hobby in that you have to carefully keep track of what you have and catalogue the value of each piece. However, if you are an individual who enjoys organizing such information, gold coins could be something that would interest you as a hobby.

The cigars at the annual trade show of the International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association are not the packaged stogies found in an isolated corner of a convenience store. These are hand-rolled smokes — sometimes with Cuban seed tobacco grown in a non-embargoed country — that can go from a couple of bucks to $30 each…

No one is a stranger to cigar smoke and the dangers of breathing in second hand smoke. Many often wonder if inhaling cigar smoke is just as risky or more son. The truth is, being exposed to any type of secondhand smoke regardless of it’s from a cigar or cigarette is dangerous.

Any secondhand smoke that comes from a tobacco product can be classified as environmentally dangerous tobacco smoke. Environmental tobacco smoke includes all secondhand smoke coming from lit tobacco products including cigars and cigarettes. Smoke emitted from either cigars or cigarettes contains a lot of the same harmful irritants. Smoke from both cigars and cigarettes are full of nicotine, carbon monoxide, hydrogen cyanide, and ammonia. Environmental tobacco smoke also contains carcinogens like vinyl chlorine, benzene, arsenic, hydrocarbons, and nitrosamines. Since cigars are larger than most cigarettes, they tend to produce and release more environmental tobacco smoke into the air. That being said, hanging around cigar smoke can be more of a risk to one’s health than breathing in cigarette’s secondhand smoke.

Cigar Smoke

Although cigars and cigarettes emit the same environmental tobacco smoke, there are some differences between the two that are worth noting. The differences have much to do with the different ways the two products are manufactured. Cigars go through a long fermentation and aging process during their production. It is during this long process the huge levels of carcinogens are produced. After the completed fermentation and aging stage, the cigar is wrapped tightly in a nonporous wrapper keeping the cigar from burning too fast. It is the fermentation process and the nonporous wrappers which are the largest contributing factors in the high concentration of carcinogens released in the smoke. It is not until the cigar is lit that those carcinogens are released into the air. The nonporous wrapper is a large factor in the unclean burn of the cigar.

Cigars also produce large amounts of carcinogens because of their size. Cigars are larger than cigarettes in girth. Cigar size gives them the ability to release a lot more smoke, toxins, and irritants. Cigars are made for relaxing and taking the time to enjoy the cigar, rather than cigarettes which are often sucked down in a matter of minutes. The longer smoke time needed for cigars leads to larger quantities of smoke. Non-smokers should avoid the places where cigars are smoked. If you choose to smoke cigars, always make sure you are in a well-ventilated or windowed area.

Cigars are among the best things that were ever created. Men and women turn to them for fun and leisure. Sometimes, cigars are seen as a status symbol. It is for this very reason than cigar enthusiasts shower themselves with cigar accessories to make the whole experience more meaningful.

But even though a lot has been written about cigars, there are still pieces of information that seem confusing. There are still a few myths and legends surrounding this subject. This write-up aims to tackle two of them.

1. That the best cigars are those that are rolled on the thighs of sultry women.
This piece of trivia is a myth – despite your fervent prayer that otherwise is true. Therefore, you cannot give out cigars as Groomsmen Gifts and inform your friends about the association of sexy women and cigars.

First, the act of rolling cigars was originally a man’s work. There is a certain kind of motion and strength that’s needed to make a good cigar. And this strength is most often supplied by men (of course, with no pun intended for women). Therefore, to say that the best cigars are rolled by women – and on their thighs – is not only impossible, but ridiculous as well.

2. That you need to warm up your cigars before you use them
Cigars are not like your body that needs a warm-up before getting into any kind of arduous activity. Therefore, it does not need to be warmed up before you can enjoy it.

So the next time you see somebody holding a cigar on one hand and a cheap zippo lighter on another, call his attention. Tell him that doing so won’t let him experience the full taste or aroma of the cigar. This act would not even smoothen the covering of the cigar. Only one thing’s for sure in this instance – and that’s running the risk of smouldering the cigar and ruining its taste altogether. Running the flame a few millimeters closer will not only welcome the occasion of burning the cigar, but it will run the risk of burning your hand too.

It is okay to use cigars and not be fully knowledgeable about them. It is okay to say that you are a cigar enthusiast and not be aware of the history and the process of manufacturing it. After all, you are there to experience the taste and aroma of cigars, and not to dissect them. But it wouldn’t hurt to confidently distinguish fact from fiction – especially when these have a lot to do about your favorite pastime.

We are all aware of some of the cigar smoking health risks. There are risks in smoking cigarettes, but is there any health risks associated with cigar smoking?

The Risky Business of Cigar Smoking…

Are those risks just as dangerous as with cigarettes? Research provided by the National Cancer Institute claim there are definite dangers involved with cigar smoking. Research has linked cancers of the larynx, lungs, esophagus, and oral cavity with smoking cigars. Some of the newest research shows there is a link between smoking cigars and pancreas cancers. Those cigar smokers who deeply inhale on a regular basis are at a higher risk of developing lung and heart disease.

Health risks in cigar smokers are more apparent in those who smoke on a regular basis and inhale the smoke. A smoker who smokes three or four cigars on a daily basis is eight times more likely than a nonsmoker to develop some type of oral cancer. It is unclear the exact risks of smoking only an occasional cigar. We can speculate that if smoking cigars daily puts you at risk of developing health problems.

We all know cigarettes are highly addictive, but are cigars just as addictive? It seems as though many more people are addicted to cigarettes but not cigars. All tobacco products contain nicotine, and nicotine is addictive. It’s easy to observe the effect of nicotine by looking at individuals who use smokeless tobacco such as chewing tobacco, which is addictive. Cigar smokers usually do not inhale deeply, but the nicotine is still absorbed in the mouth. Cigarette smokers; on the other hand, inhale deeply and often causing the nicotine to be quickly absorbed in the lungs. Although cigar smokers don’t inhale deeply, they still have a large amount of nicotine absorb by the body and they are still at risk for becoming addicted to cigars if smoked on constantly.

Since nicotine is addictive, why aren’t cigar smokers smoking more cigars, more often? People are aware of the addictive quality of nicotine and, therefore, avoid becoming hooked on cigars. Cigars take longer to become addicted to because less nicotine is released into the body as with cigarettes. Cigars are also more expensive than cigarettes, and are viewed as a luxury product or only enjoyed on special occasions; they are simply not used as often. The more frequent a cigar is smoked, the higher the chance of becoming addicted. Smoking any tobacco product frequently will dramatically increase the health risks.

How To Season A Cigar Humidor

Owning a cigar humidor allows you to protect your wonderful cigars for many, many years. This is what many people think. However, just owning a humidor is no cause for celebration. Your new humidor must be seasoned before it is worth its weight in gold.

Both old and new humidors need to be seasoned. Humidors are usually made of cedar or mahogany wood. This wood is part of the humidification system. It helps to provide flavor and humidity to your precious cigars. If it is not seasoned, the cigars will dry out due to the fact that the wood will absorb moisture from the cigars themselves. The function of the humidor is to make sure that enough moisture is maintained for the long life of your cigars.
Cedar and mahogany are both very good agents to hold humidity. They also contain an anti-fungal agent that is resistant to mold, which makes them the best choices for humidors. Seasoning a humidor is fairly easy. You need to have some distilled water and a new sponge. Distilled water is important because it does not contain the minerals and impurities that are in tap water. These minerals and impurities leave deposits that can destroy the dehumidification devices present in a humidor.

In order to season your humidor, you need to soak the sponge in distilled water and wipe down the surface of the interior wood. Specifications should be followed when filling the humidification device. Soak the sponge again and put it in a plastic bag to prevent direct contact with the wood. Place the bag inside the humidor and close the lid. Then you let it sit for 24 hours and check to see how much moisture is still in the sponge. If it is dry, then you will want to repeat the process. If it is still wet, then you should remove the sponge from the humidor. Then you should wipe down the interior surface of the wood again. Then you can refill the humidification device.
It is very important to maintain a balance of moisture for your beloved cigars. This is why we have humidors. They create a “tropical environment.” It takes a very talented, knowledgeable, and patient person to make sure that they season a humidor right to create this environment. It is quite easy to do, but it is very important to protect the cigars.

Humidors come equipped with a hygrometer. These are important because they give a reading of the humidity level. If the humidity is too high, then you must simply leave the lid open for a while. If it is too low, then you should add more distilled water to the humidification device. If it is really bad, then you should leave a wet sponge inside the humidor for twenty four hours. Make sure that the sponge does not touch the cigars. At this point in time, many people choose to store their cigars in plastic bags to keep them from getting wet.

It is specifically recommended that cigars that are stored on top of each other be separated by straws to maintain an even balance of air and moisture in the humidor. It is also important to know that your cigars should be rotated on a regular basis. Rotate them from top to bottom and from side to side. Now you are finally ready to enjoy your beloved cigars! And you can see the benefits of having your own humidor that is seasoned properly. So kick back and enjoy yourself a stogie!
